Co-Founder and Head Scientific
Advisor: Yung-Chi Cheng, Ph.D.,
is the Henry Bronson Professor of Pharmacology and Professor of Medicine
at Yale University Medical School as well as Director of the Developmental
Therapeutics Program of the Yale Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Prof. Cheng is a leader in cancer and viral pharmacology and
has recently developed an interest in the use of traditional Chinese
medicine in cancer: Prof. Cheng has 5 clinical candidates in the area
of nucleoside analogs for antiviral therapy; he is a scientific chairman
and/or member of several federal boards and committees; he serves
as a consultant for many pharmaceutical firms; and he is on the editorial
board of many journals. Professor
Cheng is a member of Academia Sinica in the Republic of China and
holds the honorary Professor title at 5 prominent Chinese Medical
Universities. Professor Cheng
is also the co-chair for the Consortium
for the Globalization of Chinese Medicine, the co-founder
of PhytoCeutica in 1999 and its Head Scientific Advisor.
Prof. Cheng obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemical Pharmacology
from Brown University under the direction and mentorship of Professor
R.E. Parks, Jr. and his postdoctoral training was completed at the
Department of Pharmacology at Yale University under the direction
of Professor William H. Prusoff.
Vice President of Operations
& Director of Clinical Department: Tah-Mun Su, Ph.D., joined
PhytoCeutica in 1999. He was the former President of Delta Tech Co.,
Ltd and Taiwan Biotech Co., Ltd. Dr.
Su was responsible for designing and building the first GMP-certified
pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Taiwan and has expertise in
the production of pharmaceutical grade materials and in U.S./Chinese
regulatory affairs. Dr. Su
was one of the early biotech pioneers at the General Electric Research
Center. He obtained his Ph.D.
from Princeton University and pursued his post-doctoral training at
U.C. Berkeley.
Chief Operating Officer &
Vice President of Science and Technology: Robert Tilton, Ph.D.,
joined PhytoCeutica in 2000. He
was the former Vice President of Informatics and Computational Design
at ArQule, Inc. Previously,
he was Director of Structural Chemistry and Analytics at Bayer Corporation.
Dr. Tilton has experience with both pharmaceutical and biotechnology
companies along with an extensive scientific background in small molecule
discovery, chemoinformatics and biological screening technologies.
Dr. Tilton obtained his Ph.D. from U.C. San Francisco and pursued
his post-doctoral training at M.I.T. |
